Enforcement Directorate raids the house of TASMAC Managing Director

Tamil Nadu : Enforcement officials are conducting searches at various locations, including the house of TASMAC Managing Director Vishagan in Manapakkam, Chennai.
The raids are being conducted in connection with a Rs 1,000 crore fraud case at Tamil Nadu government-owned TASMAC.
The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at the TASMAC headquarters from March 6 to 8 following allegations of Rs 1,000 crore fraud in the TASMAC liquor sale case.
The TASMAC managing director and the Tamil Nadu government had filed a petition seeking that it be declared illegal. The court hearing the case ruled that the searches conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at the TASMAC headquarters were not illegal and dismissed the petition.
The Enforcement Directorate, in conjunction with the Central Reserve Police Force, is conducting searches at the residence of TASMAC Managing Director Vishagan in Manapakkam, Chennai, after the High Court granted permission to conduct the searches.
Similarly, searches are also being conducted at the office of SNJ Liquor Company at Kalyanpuram in Choolaimedu, Chennai. Enforcement agencies are conducting raids at various places in Chennai including Teynampet, T. Nagar, Anna Salai, Besant Nagar and Chettupattu.
