Engineering counselling: 1.39 lakh students applied

Tamil Nadu : In the last 8 days 1.39 lakh students have applied for counselling for admission to engineering courses in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming academic year (2025-2026).

There are more than 440 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. It includes all types of engineering colleges like Anna University Departmental Colleges, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, Private Self-Financed Colleges. Around 2 lakh seats of B.E. and B.Tech courses in these colleges will be filled through public counselling.

This counselling is conducted annually by the Directorate of Technical Education on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The online application registration for counselling for B.E., B.Tech (Government Quota Seats) for the upcoming academic year (2025-2026) started from May 7. After this, students willing to join engineering courses are applying on the website address www.tneaonline.org.

In this regard, till Wednesday, 1 lakh 39 thousand 262 students have applied in the last 8 days. Out of these, 74,971 students have paid the fees and 39,844 students have uploaded their certificates. The last date to apply for engineering courses has been declared as June 6.
