EU decides to impose its digital rules on tech companies

World World: The EU Commission president told Politico that the EU is committed to fully enforcing its digital rules, no matter who runs the companies or where they are based. “We have opened cases against companies like Apple, Meta. We apply the rules fairly, equally and without any discrimination. We don’t care where the company is from or who runs it, we are concerned about people’s safety,” she said.
The EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) provides a set of guidelines for tech giants, aimed at maintaining fairness in the market and giving consumers more choice. The act was criticized by former US President Donald Trump’s administration.
