Apple smartphone sales decline in China

World World: Apple’s smartphone sales in China declined by 9% in the first quarter of 2025, which is the seventh consecutive quarter of decline. During this period, Apple’s market share fell to 13.7%, while it was 17.4% in the previous quarter. The company shipped a total of 98 lakh units. In contrast, Xiaomi registered a growth of 40% by selling 1.33 crore phones and strengthened its hold in the market.

The total smartphone market saw a growth of 3.3% during this period. According to the report, the Chinese government’s 15% subsidy on electronic products priced below 6000 yuan benefited cheap brands, while due to Apple’s expensive prices, the company could not take advantage of this scheme.
