Temperature crosses 40 degrees in 3 places in Odisha, Jharsuguda continues to be hottest at 41.8

Bhubaneswar: The maximum (day) temperature crossed 40 degree Celsius in three places of Odisha with Jharsuguda being hottest of the day at 41.8 degrees, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the latest data of the IMD, this is the second time that the maximum temperature in Jharsuguda crossed the 41 degree Celsius mark. Yesterday Jharsuguda had reported 41.4 degrees Celsius temperature but today it further rose to 41.8 degrees.
Apart from Jharsuguda, the two other places where the maximum temperature crossed 40 degree are Sambalpur and Hirakud. The mercury in Sambalpur climbed to 40.3 degree and 40.1 degrees was recoded in Hirakud.
The IMD’s data also revealed that 39.4 °C.temperature was witnessed in Rourkela while temperature crossed the 37 degree-mark in four places including the State Capital City, Bhubaneswar. They are Keonjhar (37.9 °C.), Chandabali (37.8 °C.), Balasore (37.6 °C.) and Bhubaneswar (37.2 °C.).

Orange Warning: Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpu and Mayurbhanj. Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Boudh and Balangir.
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Kalahandi and Gajapati.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 15.03.2025 to 8.30 AM of 16.03.2025):
Orange Warning: Heat wave to severe heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Mayurbhanj. Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Boudh and Balangir.
Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Bargarh, Balasore, Gajapati, Bhadrak, Sonepur, Angul, Dhenkanal and Kalahandi.
Hot and humid condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Jajpur,Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Puri.
