Manipal Community Connect will bring WPL 2025 closer to the community

Bengaluru Bengaluru: In India, cricket is not just a sport – it is a force that connects millions, an unbreakable passion that brings communities together with a shared roar in the stadium, and takes the game beyond boundaries, weaving stories of dreams, resilience, inspiration and hope. The Women’s Premier League (WPL) embodies this spirit, proving that cricket is for everyone. It’s not just about competition; it’s about empowerment, inclusion and creating moments that inspire generations.
Through the Manipal Community Connect (MCC) initiative, Manipal Hospitals, the official healthcare partner of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team, spread the excitement of WPL 2025 beyond the stadium and into the heart of the community, touching the lives of everyday heroes, aspiring athletes and dedicated cricket fans.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) played four thrilling home matches on February 21, 24, 27 and March 1, with MCC turning each game into an opportunity to uplift and engage with different sections of society.
The opening home match on February 21 paid tribute to the unsung heroes of our communities – the sanitation workers, security personnel and housekeeping staff – who work tirelessly behind the scenes. For many, it was their first time watching a live match, making it a great opportunity for recognition. Their excitement was undeniable. “We are always on duty, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of places for others, but today, we were seen and appreciated,” said Nataraj Raju, a security guard at Golden Star Apartments. Aneesh Mathai, a fire officer from Vaswani Exquisite Apartments, expressed his gratitude for being able to share this experience with his wife, a dedicated nurse: “I am so happy that I could give my wife, Rinu, this experience. She works very hard as a nurse and rarely gets time for things like this. This was her first match, and it was really special for both of us to see her so excited. A big thank you to Manipal for creating such a memorable moment.”
