CG: People blocked the road, heavy vehicles queued up
Raigarh. The road from Govardhanpur Road to Aishwaryam Colony in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh has been in bad condition for a long time. Therefore, the people of Aishwaryam Colony blocked the road on Sunday. Their demand is that the road should be improved. A protest was held for about 4 hours regarding this. Actually, this movement started from 9 am on Sunday. Gradually, many people from the surrounding area gathered. The wheels of trucks and dumpers running for industries from both sides stopped. A long line of vehicles was formed. The police team explained to them, but they did not listen.
It is being told that the Naib Tehsildar reached the road and assured to sprinkle water from the tractor and to arrange the road in a few days. After which the blockade ended at around 1 pm. Local Chitranjan Parida said that there are very big potholes on this road. There is a lot of trouble due to dust in summer and mud in rainy days. There is a line of heavy vehicles from morning to night. Due to which there is a fear of accidents. Protests have been held many times before this, but no one is paying attention to it.
Ajay of Aishwaryam Colony said that when trucks and dumpers move, their speed is also faster than the prescribed speed. Two youths have died in accidents earlier too. He said that walking on this road has become very dangerous. Aditya Jha of the colony said that the protest for the road went on from 9 am to 1 pm. The Naib Tehsildar has assured to arrange the road. If the road is not arranged in a week, then again the people of many nearby colonies will protest by blocking the road. This road has not been built for 12 years and there are many problems.
