The newly elected mayor and councillors of Municipal Corporation Durg took oath

Durg. The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected mayor and councillors was held today in the Municipal Corporation Durg premises. In this program organized under the chief hospitality of the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Durg district Vijay Sharma and under the chairmanship of MP Vijay Baghel, Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary administered the oath of truthfulness to Mayor Alka Baghmar. After the oath taking of the mayor, the newly elected 60 councillors of the corporation took oath in groups of 10 each according to the ward order.

On this occasion, former MP Saroj Pandey, MLAs Doman Lal Korsewada, Lalit Chandrakar, Gajendra Yadav and Rakesh Sen, former Mayor Dhiraj Bakliwal and Surendra Kaushik along with the dignitaries of the city, IG RG Garg, SP Jitendra Shukla, ADM Arvind Ekka, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Agarwal, SDM Harvansh Singh Miri along with other officers, employees and a large number of city residents were present.
