Opium smuggler arrested in Raipur, action by Kabir Nagar police
Raipur. Kabir Nagar police has arrested an opium smuggler. Kabir Nagar team received information that a person near Ring Road No. 2 Kabir Nagar under the police station area has kept banned drugs like heroin (chitta) and opium and is trying to sell it. On which Additional Superintendent of Police West Mr. Daulat Ram Porte and City Superintendent of Police Azad Chowk Mr. Aman Kumar Jha (IPS) directed the police station in-charge Kabir Nagar to verify the information and catch the accused red handed with drugs like heroin (chitta) and opium. On which, on the instructions of senior officers, the police team of Kabir Nagar police station under the leadership of police station in-charge Kabir Nagar Mr. Deepesh Jaiswal went to the said place and identified and caught the person matching the description given by the informer. During interrogation, the said person told his name to be Davinder Singh father Hazara Singh age 52 years resident of village Padri Punjab and present address- Veer Savarkar Nagar Hirapur Raipur. On searching the pocket of his kurta, the team members found two foils containing banned narcotic substance heroin chitta and opium. On demanding valid documents for possession and sale of the said banned narcotic substance from Davinder Singh, he was continuously trying to mislead the team members by not presenting any documents of any kind. On which the accused Davinder Singh was arrested and a heroin chitta weighing 14.70 grams in a white membrane worth about Rs. 1,61,000/- and a black colored opium weighing 12.15 grams in a black membrane worth Rs. 67,750/- and cash amount of Rs. 9010, total worth Rs. 2,37,750/- were seized from his possession and a case number 27/25 under section 18(A) 21(B) NDPS Act was registered against the accused in Kabir Nagar police station and action was taken against the accused.
