Bhilai. The third national level conference (on hybrid mode) of Government Nursing College, Durg was organized at Mahatma Gandhi Kala Mandir Civic Center, Bhilai. The theme of the conference was “Nursing Power to Change the World”. B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing students, nurses and nursing teachers from various government and private nursing colleges of the state participated in the conference through online and offline medium. Along with the subject experts present in the event, speakers from Australia and Britain also expressed their views through video messages. A model presentation competition was held in the conference. In which the participating students from various government and private nursing colleges of the state made and displayed models on the theme. Along with this, a reels making competition was also held. In which the participants participated in the competition by making theme based reels. Various cultural programs were also organized in the event. The conference was chaired by Rama Rajesh, Principal, Government Nursing College, Durg. The secretary for the conference was Mamta Shashi Sahu, Associate Professor, Government Nursing College, Durg. Vandana Chauhan, Associate Professor, Government Nursing College, Durg and Sunita Verma, Government Nursing College, Durg were present as the coordinators of the conference. On this occasion, the topic of panel discussion was Nursing Power to Change the World, in which the panelists were Dr. Annie Kumar National President, Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Dr. Abhilekha Biswal Principal PG College of Nursing, Bhilai, Dr. Beni Busan Chako Principal Bethany College of Nursing, Bhilai, Rachna Soni Deputy Nursing Superintendent AIIMS, Raipur. The moderator was Reema Rajesh Principal Government College of Nursing, Durg. In the scientific session, the speaker Mrs. Minimol Varghese Chief Nursing Officer, Fortis Health Care, Mulund, Mumbai presented her views on the topic “Digitization of Healthcare Systems, Skill Upgradation and Reskilling of Nursing Workforce”. Which was chaired by Dr. Rosa Princy Professor (Head of Department), Mental Health Nursing PG College of Nursing, Bhilai.
In the afternoon session, the scientific session on the topic ‘Empowering quality nurse educators for future nursing workforce’ was conducted by keynote speaker Dolly Biswas, Chief Nursing Officer, Fortis Hospital Anandpur, Kolkata. The session was presided over by Sapna Thakur, Associate Professor (HoD), Child Health Department, Government Nursing College, Durg. The third scientific session was titled “Advanced Nursing Practices: Seize the Opportunity”. The keynote speaker was Bindu George K. Asian Gastroenterology Institute, Hyderabad. The session was presided over by Rachna Soni, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, AIIMS, Raipur. The fourth scientific session on the topic “Developing evidence-based nursing workforce strategy from research to reality” was conducted by Dr. Jibi Geograd, Adeshwar Group of Institutions, Jagdalpur. The session was presided over by Elsie Varghese, Professor (HOD), OBG Department, Government Nursing College, Durg.
