Player Naveen Sai Krishna brought laurels to Chhattisgarh

Rajnandgaon. Rajnandgaon’s gymnast Adari Naveen Sai Krishna has brought laurels to the state in the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. 24-year-old Naveen created history by winning the silver medal in the Roman ring event of artistic gymnastics.

Naveen, the only player to qualify from Chhattisgarh, performed brilliantly in this competition held from 8 to 13 February at the Bhagirathi Hall of Maharana Pratap Sports College. An amazing combination of flexibility, balance, strength and agility was seen in artistic gymnastics. His initial coach Laxman Gurung and railway coach Praveen played an important role in Naveen’s success. State Gymnastics Association officials Neeraj Sir, Babulal Komre, Sanjay Vastrakar and NIS coach Biswajit Mallick also played an important role in the player’s success.

Indian Gymnastics Association officials Sudhir Mittal and Shanti Kumar Kaushik expressed happiness over this achievement. Many senior players and coaches of the state, including Eklavya Award winner Karan Bahadur Gurung, congratulated Naveen. This achievement has become an inspiration for the future of gymnastics in Chhattisgarh.
