Raipur: 100 mobile phones were found and handed over to the owners
Raipur. Ensuring the recovery of lost mobile phones, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh has directed all the police gazetted officers and station in-charges along with the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit to find and recover the lost mobile phones. On which, under the guidance of senior officers, a special campaign was launched by the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and police stations to find the lost mobile phones on the applications of lost mobile phones submitted by the applicants. A total of 100 lost mobile phones were found and recovered by the police team from different places in the state and other states. A total of 100 mobile phones worth about Rs 20 lakh were recovered and the mobile phones were distributed to their owners today on 08.02.2025.
While recovering the lost mobile phone, the team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit, after doing technical analysis, asked the current mobile holder to provide information about the lost mobile and asked him to deposit it in Cyber Cell Raipur. The mobile phone was also switched off by the mobile holder. On this, the team members established coordination with the police of other states and got the mobile holder verified and recovered the mobile phone from him and deposited it in the police station. After that, mobile phones were brought from other states and various districts through courier. During this, when some mobile holders told about using the lost mobile, they also got the phone couriered by themselves.
Mobile phones were recovered by Raipur Police by establishing coordination with the police of other states. Out of which mobile phones were recovered from Orissa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar.
Till now in the year 2024 – 25, a total of 1351 lost mobile phones worth Rs 02 crore 85 lakh have been returned to the mobile phone owners. Raipur Police appeals to all the public, that in case of mobile phone being lost, immediately send information regarding the loss on the www.ceir.gov.in portal and contact your nearest police station / cyber cell, so that the mobile phone cannot be used in any crime. Always keep your mobile phone password protected. By being aware, any kind of cyber crime can be avoided. Raipur Police appeals to the general public, if any person finds any mobile phone unclaimed or in any other condition, then immediately deposit such mobile phone in the office of Cyber Cell Civil Line Raipur. The person depositing the mobile phone will be honored by Raipur Police.
