Choice Center operator cheated, two criminals arrested

Balodabazar. Police have arrested the accused who had deceived people by promising to double their money in two years in the name of investment. The accused had committed a fraud of Rs 7 lakh in the name of bitcoin investment. In fact, accused Lokesh Dwivedi and his associate Nandkishore Sahu, by luring them to double their money in two years, made Pradeep Kewat, the operator of Laxmi Choice Center located in village Amodi Chowk and his partner Kamal Kishore Devangan invest Rs 7 lakh in the name of investment in bitcoin in 2022. After two years, the accused cheated the applicants by not returning the money.

On this report, a crime under section 420,34 IPC was registered in outpost Girodpuri under crime number 32/2025 and taken into investigation. Taking action in the case, the police outpost Girodpuri police detained both the accused from Bilaspur and Rohansi respectively, on detailed interrogation of whom the accused have admitted to cheating the applicants by taking money in the name of investment in bitcoin. In this case, both the accused were duly arrested on 30 January and presented in the court.

The accused used to roam around in different places and deceive people in the name of investment in bitcoin and used to lure them by promising to return the invested amount by 5 times in 2 years. SSP Vijay Agarwal appealed to the people not to invest their money in this way by getting tempted by any kind of attractive scheme. Always be cautious of people who cheat by giving schemes like getting virtual currency, returning the amount after doubling it and such lure.

  2. Nandkishore Sahu age 35 years resident of village Rohansi police station Palari
