Raipur: Smuggler arrested with beer
Raipur. Accused Shatru Baghel has been arrested for illegally selling beer. The team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit received information that a person riding a two-wheeler behind J N Pandey School located near OCM Chowk under Thana Kotwali area is selling beer illegally. On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Kotwali Police went to the said place and identified the vehicle and the person of the description given by the informer and caught him. During interrogation, the person told his name to be Shatru Baghel, resident of Nehru Nagar Kotwali Raipur. When the team members searched the bag kept with him, beer was found in the bag. On demand of valid documents regarding keeping and selling beer, Shatru Baghel was continuously trying to mislead the team members by not presenting any document of any kind.
On which the team members arrested the accused Shatru Baghel and seized 16 bottles of beer, sale cash amount and Activa vehicle used in the incident number CG/04/PE/5532, total worth about Rs 50,000/- from his possession and registered a case number 16/2025 under section 34(2) of the Excise Act against the accused in Kotwali police station and took action.
In the action, Inspector Sudhanshu Baghel, Police Station Incharge Kotwali, Inspector Incharge Paresh Pandey from Anti Crime and Cyber Unit, Sub Inspector Atulesh Rai, PR Virendra Bhargava, Jaswant Soni, R. Munir Raza, Tukesh Nishad, Vikram Verma and Rajendra Tiwari and PR Prem Sagar Netam from Kotwali police station played an important role.
