Punjab: Pandher asks farmers to reach Shambhu
Punjab: KMM Convenor Sarwan Singh Pandher today said that as per the proposed schedule of KMM and SKM (non-political), a batch of tractors and trolleys from Majha will reach Shambhu border. Talking to reporters in presence of BKU Doaba President Manjit Singh Rai and General Secretary Satnam Singh Sahni near village Saprod, Pandher said that the ongoing protest at Shambhu and Khanauri border is not only of farmers but also of labourers/workers. He emphasised that online shopping sites of various corporates are looting farmers by buying crops from them at low prices and selling them at 10 times the price on online platforms.
He said that it is a conspiracy of the government to hand over farming to the corporate world. He said that farmers are not only fighting for their rights but they are also fighting for the rights of labourers, small shopkeepers and traders, whom the corporates and the government are trying to eliminate. He further stressed that they are raising many issues including unemployment, 200 days of work for MNREGA workers, so Punjab should support their protest. He appealed to the people to support their protest by bringing one tractor and 10/15 members from every village to the border.
