Punjab: Tribute to Gandhiji on his martyrdom day

Punjab: Tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters on Shaheedi Diwas at the District Administrative Complex today. Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rahul Chaba along with officers and staff of various departments paid homage to the sacrifices made by the martyrs. The tribute ceremony was marked by two-minute silence after a contingent of Punjab Police paid homage by lowering their arms. In his address, the Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed on following Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth, love and non-violence. Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal also observed silence along with the staff and urged all to adopt Gandhi’s principles for a meaningful and successful life.
