Raipur: Theft in mechanic’s house, two boys arrested
Raipur. Two boys who stole from a mechanic’s house have been arrested. Arif Khan lodged a report at Tikrapara police station that he lives in a rented house near Chaurasia Colony Mosque and works as a mechanic at S.K. Engineering Sanjay Nagar. On 27.01.2025 at 10.00 am, the applicant locked his house and went to work. The family members had gone to a wedding function. When the applicant returned home from duty at around 10.00 pm, he saw that the latch of the main door of the house was broken. When he went inside, three cupboards kept in the room were open and the items were scattered. On checking the items, gold and silver jewellery and cash were missing. When the applicant checked the CCTV camera, Sufiyan Khan, a resident of Chaurasia Colony, and one of his companions were seen entering and exiting the applicant’s house. Sufiyan Khan and his companion broke the latch of the main door of the applicant’s house, entered the house, opened the cupboard and stole the gold and silver jewellery and cash kept in the cupboard. On the applicant’s report, a crime number 89/25 under sections 331(4), 305, 3(5) BNS was registered against the accused. Taking the incident seriously, senior officials directed the police station in-charge Tikrapara and in-charge Anti Crime and Cyber Unit to trace the accused and arrest them as soon as possible. Under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and Tikrapara Police Station started to trace the accused by questioning the applicant in detail regarding the incident. The team members conducted raids at all possible hiding places of the accused and arrested the accused Sufiyan Khan and Amitesh Iyer in the case.
On the basis of the evidence obtained, after strict interrogation of both the accused, it was revealed that they had committed the above mentioned theft. On which both the accused were arrested and stolen gold and silver jewellery and the scooter vehicle used in the crime, worth about Rs. 1,50,000/-, were seized from their possession and action was taken against both the accused. Accused Sufiyan Khan has also been imprisoned in the past in a theft case from Tikrapara police station.
