Crime Branch took action against 7 people including gangster DK Rao on charges of demanding extortion
Maharashtra: Crime Branch has registered a case against gangster DK Rao and seven others for demanding a ransom of Rs 2.5 crore from a hotelier. The complaint states that the accused threatened the businessman. The Anti Extortion Squad is further investigating the matter. A senior official said that a case has been registered against seven people including DK Rao in this case. According to the complaint, the Crime Branch had received a complaint from a hotelier. In this, gangster DK Rao and six others conspired to take over his hotel. Also demanded a ransom of Rs 2.5 crore and threatened to kill him. After the complaint, the police immediately registered a case under the Indian Penal Code. The official said that DK Rao and all the seven accused have been arrested and further investigation is on. DK Rao has 22 serious cases registered against him including assault, kidnapping for ransom, attempt to murder and other crimes. He is also an associate of Chhota Rajan.
