Pimpri: Huge fire breaks out in a laborer’s house, cash worth Rs 5 lakh burnt to ashes
Maharashtra: A massive fire broke out in the house of an unemployed laborer near Kashid Park in Pimpale Gurav area of Pimpri-Chinchwad city on Thursday. The laborer’s goods worth about Rs 5 lakh were burnt to ashes in the fire. The cause of the fire is not clear.
The firefighters controlled the fire in time and there were no casualties. Fire officer Gautam Ingwale said that four fire engines were sent to the spot from the main fire station and Rahatani fire station of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
Due to dense population, the fire brigade was delayed in reaching the spot. The fire was controlled in 20 minutes. Cash and valuables kept in the laborer’s house were burnt. 20 houses were burnt to ashes in the fire and about five lakh rupees in cash and five tolas of gold jewellery worth ten lakh rupees are estimated to have been burnt. Firefighters have initially estimated that the fire was caused by a short circuit.
