Strict action against illegal liquor in the city, four including a woman arrested

Raigarh. Under the special campaign being run by Raigarh Police against illegal liquor smuggling and sale under the direction of SP Divyang Patel, continuous success is being achieved in various police stations. In the action taken in different police station areas of the district within the last 48 hours, the police seized 29 liters of illegal Mahua liquor and arrested four accused.

Kotararod police caught two liquor smugglers, 15 liters of Mahua liquor seized along with bike. Today morning, Kotrarod police, under the leadership of Inspector Trinath Tripathi, arrested two accused smuggling liquor on a motorcycle near Nandeli Deepapara. The accused caught in this action taken on the information of the informer were identified as Devesh Bareth (23 years), resident of Tarapur Aurabhata Road and Gopal Patel (22 years), resident of Aurabhata. Both the accused were carrying 15 liters of illegal Mahua liquor hidden in a sack between the motorcycle (TVS Victor, number CG 13 W 1004). After not getting satisfactory answers from both the accused regarding the liquor, a case has been registered against them in Kotrarod police station under section 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act. Sub Inspector Kusum Kaivart, Head Constable Karunesh Rai and Constable Chandresh Pandey played an important role in this action.

Kotwali police raids in Ishanagar, 8 liters of liquor seized

Kotwali police raided the house of Gopal Das Manikpuri (44 years) in Ishanagar under the leadership of Head Constable Dilip Bhanu. In this action taken on the information of the informer, the police recovered 8 liters of Mahua liquor from Gopal Das’s house. The accused was keeping the liquor for sale. Head Constable Dilip Bhanu, Constable Uttam Sarathi, Manoj Patnaik, Ganesh Pankra and Govind Patel were involved in this raid.

6 liters of liquor recovered from woman in Chakradharnagar police action

The team of Chakradharnagar police station raided village Bhelvatikara under the leadership of Inspector Prashant Rao and arrested a woman with liquor. 6 liters of illegal Mahua liquor was recovered from the courtyard of the house of the accused woman Sunita Rathia (28 years). Police have registered a case against the woman under Section 34 (2), 59 (a) of the Excise Act. Head constable Ravi Sai, constable Ranjit Bhagat and lady constable Anita Beck played a role in this action. Such actions against illegal smuggling and sale of liquor will continue in the district.
