Municipal-Panchayat elections in Chhattisgarh, these leaders increased the tension of Congress

Raipur: The dates for the urban body and panchayat elections have been announced in Chhattisgarh. Along with this, the code of conduct has also been imposed in the state. Here, the leaders of political parties are now doing calculations for the urban government. The contenders for the post of councilor including the mayor have started intense lobbying. At many places, leaders are demanding tickets for their wives. Many active leaders of Congress are constantly contacting senior leaders to get tickets for their wives. The workers have also started protesting against this.

In fact, in many municipal corporations of the state including the capital Raipur, the wards from which the local leaders wanted to contest for the post of mayor and councilor have now been reserved for women. In such a situation, the local leaders are demanding tickets for their wives. Regarding this issue, former PCC Chief Dhanendra Sahu said that only the woman who works in the organization should get the ticket.

There is only 21 days between the announcement of the election and the date of voting. Both the major political parties will announce the candidates between 25 and 26 January. After the announcement of names, it will take four to five days to file nominations and withdraw names etc. All candidates will be able to contest with full force only from February 1-2. Campaigning will stop 48 hours before voting. Hence, candidates will get only 10 to 11 days for campaigning. Due to less time for campaigning, most of the contenders are already worried.
