Raipur double murder case solved, accused’s illicit relationship with the deceased became the reason for the murder, raped the dead body of the daughter

Raipur: The double murder case in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur has been solved. On 01.01.2025, the informant informed the Khamtarai police station that the body of an unknown girl was lying on the Raipur Bilaspur road in front of Sher-e-Punjab Dhaba located at Khamtarai Ranvabhata. For verification, the Anti-Crime and Cyber ​​Unit and the Khamtarai police station staff reached the spot and on the basis of the informant’s report, a case was registered at the spot and investigation was taken up. Prima facie and on inspection of the spot, it was found that an unknown person had strangled the deceased to death and had fled after throwing her body on the Raipur Bilaspur road near Sher-e-Punjab Dhaba with the intention of hiding the evidence. On which a crime under Section 103, 238(1) BNS has been registered against the unknown accused in Khamtarai police station.

During this time, the team members were trying to identify the body, on which the team members received information about the body of an unknown girl and the said unknown body was found to be of Reshma, daughter of Hamida, resident of Dhaneli. On which the team members reached Hamida’s residence in Dhaneli on 02.01.2025 to verify the information and found that some unknown person had also murdered Reshma’s mother Hamida and fled. On which a crime number 05/2025 section 103(1) B.N.S. was registered against the unknown accused in Police Station Dharsiwa.

Taking the above double murder incidents seriously, Inspector General of Police Raipur Range Raipur Mr. Amresh Mishra and Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh directed Additional Superintendent of Police City Lakhan Patle, Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Sandeep Mittal, City Superintendent of Police Civil Line Aman Jha (IPS), Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh, Inspector in-charge Paresh Pandey Anti Crime and Cyber ​​Unit, Police Station in-charge Khamtarai and In-charge Silatra Outpost to trace the unknown accused and arrest him as soon as possible.

Considering the seriousness of the case, 10 special teams including technical teams of ACCU were formed under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Sandeep Mittal and Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Sanjay Singh. The team members inspected both the crime sites and also made detailed inquiries about the incident from the people nearby. The team members inspected the crime scenes and observed the footage of CCTV cameras around it and also minutely examined all the physical evidence present at the crime scene.

Since the crime scene of both the bodies was in a blind spot, the team members also observed more than thousands of CCTV cameras in the 30 km radius of the blind spot. The team members were repeatedly questioning the nearby residents about the incident and were searching for the unknown accused.

By connecting all the links while doing recreation of the scene and technical analysis, the team members received important information about the accused involved in the case, on which the team members traced and arrested Bharatdas Diwan, resident of Shivanand Nagar. Bharatdas Diwan was caught and strictly questioned about the incident and he admitted to having committed the above two murders in a pre-planned manner by hatching a criminal conspiracy with his live-in partner Anita Lahare.

During interrogation, the accused told that he works as an auto driver in Raipur. Earlier, while working in Silatra Industry area, he used to live with his family in Silatra Dhaneli. During his stay in Dhaneli, he was introduced to the deceased Hamida, due to whom he used to talk to her continuously and visit her house, due to which the accused and the deceased had an illicit relationship. The accused shifted from village Dhaneli to Shivanand Nagar in search of a new job and was earning his livelihood by driving an e-rickshaw there. During this time, he used to travel from Raipur to Silatra where he used to meet the deceased Hamida. Both the accused and his female live-in partner got upset when the deceased Hamida kept demanding money and pressurizing him to implicate her in a case if her demand was not met. On which both of them planned to murder deceased Hamida.

As per the plan, both the accused sent their four children to another village and as per the plan, the live-in partner accused woman Anita Lahare first took the minor daughter of the deceased out of the house by luring her to separate her from the house and went to her house Shivanand Nagar. After that, as per the plan, the accused went to the residence of the deceased Dhaneli on foot where he killed her by strangulating her and cutting her hands with a knife and covered her with a household cloth and locked the room from outside. After that, while going to his house Shivanand Nagar in his e-rickshaw vehicle, he threw the knife used in the incident in front of Metalpark Gurudwara on the way and reached home. Shivanand Nagar also killed the minor daughter of the deceased Hamida, the live-in partner accused Anita Lahare, who was already present in his house, by beating her and after killing the minor daughter, the accused raped her and to hide the evidence, the accused and her live-in partner reached home.
