Nashik: Police sub-inspector caught taking bribe
Maharashtra: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Devla Police Station was caught red handed by the Anti Corruption Department team while demanding Rs 20,000 for merely issuing a notice and accepting Rs 10,000 out of it without arresting him for the crime. A case has been registered against the complainant at Devla Police Station. In this case, Assistant Sub Inspector Kailash Jagtap (54, Munjawad, Satana) had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for issuing a notice without arresting him and helping in the crime.
As soon as the complaint was received in this regard, the Anti Corruption Department laid a trap. The team arrested Jagtap red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 out of Rs 20,000. The suspect first admitted to taking Rs 2 lakh 5 thousand, after which he was caught red handed. Therefore, the Anti Corruption Department informed that a case has been registered against the suspect under the Anti Corruption Act. This action was taken under the guidance of the department’s Superintendent of Police Sharmistha Gharge-Walavalkar. Deputy Superintendent Eknath Patil played the role of trap officer. The team included constables Sunil Pawar, Sandeep Vanve, Yogesh Salve, driver Parshuram Jadhav.
