Arogyasri services stopped in Andhra and Telangana due to non-payment of dues

Arogyasri services have been shut down in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana as the government owes a lot of money to private hospitals. These hospitals have not been providing services to Arogyasri patients for nearly two weeks, causing great hardship to those in need of treatment.

Hospitals in Andhra Pradesh owe around Rs 3,000 crore. The government had promised to pay, but has not yet. As a result, hospitals have stopped most treatments except in emergency situations and many patients are having to pay more.

Hospitals in Telangana have also shut down Arogyasri services as they have not been paid. Despite the government’s promises, nothing has been done. Hospitals are asking the government to pay so that they can help people.

The situation is making it very difficult for those who need treatment, as hospitals are demanding more money from them and some do not even have money to pay their staff and buy medicines.
