Telangana: 8 people saved from brain dead person’s organs
Hyderabad: Family members of a brain dead man in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district have set a remarkable example of selflessness by donating his organs, potentially saving the lives of eight persons. On January 12, 36-year-old Malaga Naveen was involved in a tragic accident while returning home from the farm along with his son Tanesh.
Naveen suffered serious head injuries
His two-wheeler collided with a tractor that was moving slowly near electric poles, resulting in serious head injuries to Naveen, who lost a lot of blood. He was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries on January 15. On receiving the news of him being brain dead, the medical staff suggested organ donation to Naveen’s family. Despite their grief, the family agreed to donate his organs, believing that the act could bring hope and life to those in need. The organs were successfully transplanted at various hospitals, benefiting several recipients.
Protest at Mandal Kendra
Local villagers and family members protested at the Mandal Kendra substation on Saturday to protest against the incident and demand justice for the accident. As part of their protest, they locked the substation and urged the officials to take action. The protest ended after police and electricity officials assured them of justice.
