Punjab: 12 drug smugglers arrested
Punjab: Police recovered about 30 grams of heroin from a person near a cinema in Sri Ganganagar last night. The suspect has been identified as Rinku Singh, a resident of Mubarakpur Alwar. He was reportedly on his way to Amritsar to sell the drug in Sri Ganganagar. CIA staff arrested Ankit Kumar, a resident of Bishnupura village, along with Gurwant Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur, residents of Tarn Taran and recovered 52 grams of heroin and drug money worth Rs 25,000. 50 grams of heroin was recovered from Mukesh and Pankaj, residents of Hanumangarh.
15 grams of heroin was recovered from Sunny, a resident of Jammu Basti, Abohar. When the police stopped and checked them on Padampur Road, 62 grams of ganja was recovered from Uttam Ram. 200 grams of opium and drug money worth Rs 2 lakh were recovered from Sanjay Bishnoi and Suresh Bishnoi, residents of Ridmalsar last night. When the police stopped a Honda City car near Sri Ganganagar, 44 kg of poppy husk was recovered from it. The two accused have been identified as Harvinder Singh of Patrewala village and Amarjit Singh of Kamalwala, who were arrested under the NDPS Act.
