IAS officer Namrata Gandhi gets PM award, know more about her

Raipur: Dhamtari Collector IAS Namrata Gandhi has been selected for the Prime Minister’s Award for her active contribution towards water conservation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will honor Namrata Gandhi on 21 April on the occasion of Civil Service Day.

Namrata Gandhi is the third IAS officer from Chhattisgarh to be honored with the Prime Minister’s Award. Earlier, the then Dantewada Collector OP Choudhary and IAS Saurabh Kumar had received this award. From January 2024, Dhamtari Collector Namrata Gandhi, in view of the drinking water problem in Bhkhara Nagar Panchayat, along with the officials of the Nagar Panchayat and Water Resources Department, made a plan to supply water from the Gangrel Canal to Silghat.

The water of the Gangrel Canal was transported to the water treatment plant through the intake well of the Nagar Panchayat near Silghat Anicut and by doing water treatment, drinking water supply was started to the residents of Bhkhara Nagar from the last few days. In this way, due to the foresight of Collector Namrata Gandhi, the long-standing drinking water problem of the Nagar Panchayat area was resolved. Due to this work, she got recognition at the national level.

Namrata Gandhi is a 2013 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. Namrata Gandhi, a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra, was born on 1 February 1989. Her father’s name is Hemendra Gandhi and mother’s name is Mita Gandhi. Her father has his own business.
