Bus-jeep collision, 3 including husband and wife die tragically
Sriganganagar. A roadways bus and a Bolero jeep collided violently near the CC head of Padampur in Sri Ganganagar district on Monday morning at around 8:15 am. 3 people including husband and wife travelling in the jeep died on the spot in the accident. 2 women were seriously injured in the accident. This family was going to attend a mourning in Punjab. The accident happened due to fog. There was a jam on the road after the accident. After the information, the police reached the spot and got the vehicles parked on the roadside and took the injured to the hospital. The bodies of the deceased were kept in the mortuary of the government hospital.
The roadways bus left for Bikaner from Sri Ganganagar at 7 am. It reached near Padampur at around 8 am. During this time, it collided with a jeep coming from the front. The accident was so severe that there was a huge explosion due to the collision and the front part of the jeep was completely damaged. On hearing the sound of the explosion, people working in the fields nearby rushed to the spot and pulled out the injured jeep passengers. 3 people had died on the spot.
The bus had left for Bikaner from Sri Ganganagar, while the jeep was going towards Punjab from village 33 ML. There were 5 people in it. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Padampur SHO Surendra Rana and the police team reached the spot. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary of the government hospital of Padampur. The condition of 2 women injured in the jeep also remains critical. They have been referred to a higher center.
The bus left for Bikaner from Sri Ganganagar, while the jeep passengers had left for Punjab from village 33 ML. The jeep was moving at a high speed. When it reached near CC Head, a tractor-trolley was moving ahead of it. The driver of the jeep tried to overtake the tractor-trolley and move ahead. During this, the jeep collided with a roadways bus coming from the front. In the accident, a girl travelling in the bus suffered a minor injury on her lip. Apart from this, no passenger in the bus was injured. Two injured passengers in the jeep have been referred to a higher center as their condition is critical. A woman is also among the three dead.
