Orissa HC withdraws interim protection of Baikuntha Ashram in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court has withdrawn the interim protection that it had earlier issued on the Baikuntha Ashram of Ghatikia Mauja in Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar today. The High Court will proceed with the next hearing on February 3.

Earlier on December 20, 2024, it was found that the letter that the appellant had produced was a fake one. The appellant had appealed for a stay on the demolition of the building by producing this letter. The letter allegedly by the School and Mass Education requested the government to transfer the rights of the Baikuntha Dham in the name of the Trust.

On January 3, the government provided affidavit in this matter and the letter was found to be a fabricated one. A bench of judges headed by Justice BP Routray was hearing the case. The government drew the attention of the judicial bench about the false affidavit. Following this, the Orissa HC asked to lift the interim stay order that it had given earlier.

The Court further instructed the appellant to give a clarification over the letter that it had provided earlier. The case will be further heard on February 3.
