There is an unbreakable cultural relationship between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh: CM Vishnudev Sai
Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the 73rd annual session of the three-day Brihanmaharashtra Mandal organized at Chaube Colony in the capital Raipur. He announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for the successful organization of this important session. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai honored the intellectuals associated with the Marathi society who achieved special achievements by presenting them mementoes and praised their contribution to the society.
Chief Minister Sai started his address by paying homage to the pioneers of the Marathi society. He said that there is an unbreakable relationship between Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh and this is reflected in the cultural relations between the two. Being a neighboring state, this connection is also more natural. Referring to the era of CP Barar, Shri Sai said that in that era Nagpur used to be the capital of both the regions and people’s representatives were nominated. My grandfather late Budhnath Sai was a nominated MLA and I have a natural connection with Maharashtra. Shri Sai remembered the eminent personalities of the Marathi society including Balasaheb Deshpande, founder of All India Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram.
He said that whatever resolution Deshpande had taken, he walked on that path throughout his life. He dedicated his life to raising the standard of living of the tribals. The Chief Minister said that according to Trayodashi Tithi, on this day last year, Lord Rammala was seated in his temple. He wished everyone on this auspicious day. He said that your convention has started on this holy day, it will definitely succeed in its objectives. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the souvenir of the annual convention of Maratha Mandal.
The Chief Minister said that the service-minded people of Maharashtra Mandal have a special contribution in other areas of public service including education. The Chief Minister said that we are also feeling proud by honoring talented people who have ensured their participation in different fields including literature, art, social welfare, health, environmental protection from this platform.
The Chief Minister said that the combination of culture of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, brotherhood and respect for each other inspires us to work for the betterment of the society by staying united. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s contribution in protecting Sanatan Dharma can never be forgotten. Our government is continuously working for the development of all sections. With the new industrial policy along with education, health, Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, we are moving towards becoming a developed state. Such events should continue to be organized to know the traditions and culture of neighboring states along with Chhattisgarhi culture.
