Assam: Uday Chandra Shaikia Higher Secondary School was established in 1974 at Karchong Satra in Raidongia of Soniparia area of Nagaon district. Hence, the golden jubilee celebrations of the school are held throughout the year. The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations will be held from tomorrow. Preparations are in full swing.
The school has been decorated with lime oil. The atmosphere has become fine and the school ground is bustling. The alumni meet of the school has already been held in July. The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee of Uday Chandra Shaikia Higher Secondary School, the pioneer of higher education in the Greater Raidongia area, will be held tomorrow morning. The golden jubilee flag will be hoisted by Navakamal Raja, chairman of the golden jubilee celebration committee and 49 dignitaries of the area. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Sonti Kalita, principal of Ailakshmi Kshetriya Atmananda Dev Higher Secondary School at 9.30 am.
The school wall magazine will be unveiled by Mukti Das, Principal of Raidongia Haliram Shaikia Higher Secondary School at 10.00 a.m. A seminar will be held at 11.00 a.m. on the topic “Social Responsibility in Academic and Intellectual Development of Students”. The seminar will be conducted by Dr. Manjumani Shaikia, an alumnus of the school and Assistant Professor, Lakhimpur College of Commerce. The seminar will be inaugurated by Nagaon District School Inspector Mridul Kumar Nath and will be attended by writer, journalist and editor of Nandini Maini Mohanta and journalist Deepak Sharma. The programme will be conducted by Rupmani Shaikia, President of the school Alumni Association and inaugurated by Secretary Anu Das. The cultural programme will be inaugurated by Dr. Sadanand Payang, Principal of Anandram Dekialphukan College after lighting of the lantern by Biren Pathak.
15 December 2013 will be the first day of the Sonaindi Uttar Kshetriya Sourav Shakha Sahitya Sabha. 15 December 2013 will be the 15th anniversary of Sonaindi Uttar Kshetriya Sourav Shakha Sahitya Sabha. Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka will unveil the statue of former MP Bishnu Prasad in memory of his father and school founder Uday Chandra Shekhia at 1 pm. The inaugural function will be presided over by Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee Chairman Navakamal Raja at 2 pm.
Nagaon Sadar Assembly Constituency MLA Rupak Sharma and writer Mohini Mohan Deka will attend the meeting as special guests. The commemorative book will be unveiled by Dr Bhadrakant Bora, retired professor of Ruphi College. In the evening, School Management Committee Vice-Chairman Gunaram Bora will light the lantern and popular singer Barnali Kalita will perform songs in the cultural programme.
