Bitcoin scam: ED raids Gaurav Mehta’s premises in Raipur, VIDEO
Raipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating the bitcoin scam. ED officials reached Gaurav Mehta’s house in Raipur on Wednesday. They searched the entire house including documents here. Gaurav Mehta works for a consultancy, which was helping the Pune Police in investigating Amit Bhardwaj’s Rs 6,600 crore cryptocurrency scam. Last Tuesday, former IPS Ravindranath Patil had claimed that Gaurav Mehta was approached by Supriya Sule and Nana Patole and asked for cash in exchange for bitcoins from the scam for use in the elections. Since then, the ED is investigating it. According to media reports, Gaurav Mehta’s house is being searched as part of a money laundering investigation. Let us tell you that former IPS officer Ravindra Nath Patil had alleged that NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole are involved in the cryptocurrency scam. He also accused both the leaders of using bitcoin manipulation for election campaign. The former IPS officer had also alleged that cash obtained from cryptocurrency dealings is being used in the current election campaign in Maharashtra. He said that similar manipulations were also done during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Speaking to the news agency, Ravindra Nath Patil accused former Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and cyber crime investigator Bhagyashree Navatke, claiming that they were involved in the bitcoin scam. They were protected by Supriya Sule and Nana Patole.
