CG: 2 coachmen arrested for smuggling illicit liquor
Raigarh. Raigarh. Taking a tough stand on illegal liquor trade, Jute Mill police arrested two smugglers on November 17 and seized 58 quarters of country liquor and a scooty from them. This action was taken under the leadership of Station Incharge Jute Mill Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri Divyang Kumar Patel. In which smugglers were nabbed by raiding Savitri Nagar and Durga Chowk areas. In the first action, Mahadev Chauhan father Harishankar Chauhan age 46 years resident Bajrangpara Nigam Colony Jute Mill was caught on Savitri Nagar Main Road, from whom 10 quarters of plain and 18 quarters of masala country liquor (5.040 liters) were recovered.
At the same time, in the second action, Vijay Tandon father Anand Kumar Tandon age 38 years resident Kayaghat Ward No. 29 Jute Mill was arrested from a scooty (CG 13 AT 8424) near Durga Chowk. 30 quarters of country liquor (5.400 liters) was confiscated from the trunk of his scooty. Both the accused have admitted to selling liquor illegally. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Excise Act and sent them to judicial custody. Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj along with his staff head constable Satish Pathak, Khirendra Jaltare, constable Tarun Mahilane, Sushil Yadav, Jitesh Chauhan and Naresh Rajat played an important role in this action. This quick action by the police has broken the spirits of illegal liquor smugglers in the area and the local people have appreciated this initiative. The police has made it clear that this strictness on illegal activities will continue.
