Himachal: Teacher suspended for coming late to school
Himachal Pradesh: A female teacher at Chauparsa School in Lag Valley, Kullu, who was allegedly coming late to school for the past three years and was also found absent during the department’s inspection, has been suspended. Kullu Deputy Director (DD) of Elementary Education Surendra Sharma said that the teacher has been suspended with immediate effect on Wednesday. Her headquarters has been fixed as BEEO office Naggar. School Management Committee (SMC) members and parents complained to the education department officials about the teacher reaching school late every day. The block primary education officer informed the DD, who inspected the spot with a team. When the teacher reached school late that day, she made an excuse for the delay. However, the SMC and parents alleged that the teacher has been coming late in the same manner for the past three years and said that a complaint was made to the education department earlier as well, but she did not change her behavior. SMC president Mahendra Singh said that the post of a teacher is vacant in the school, while the entire school is in the hands of the same teacher. A parent, Gorakhi Devi, alleged that the children play in the school for half the day. She alleged that the students’ studies are getting affected due to their careless attitude.
