Punjab: Woman accuses tantrik and his nephew of rape

Punjab: A woman was allegedly held hostage for two weeks and gang-raped by a tantrik and his nephew on the pretext of giving her a child. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rahul Yadav said that acting on the victim’s complaint, a rape case has been registered against tantrik Lovely Singh of Chak 17-Z village in Sri Ganganagar and his nephew Jas, resident of Kikkar Chak. The police got the victim, who was married about five years ago, medically examined today. She fell into Lovely’s trap as she did not have a child. According to the police, the victim had gone to a fair in Chak 15-Z village on October 16, but did not return. The next day her in-laws informed the police. She returned to her in-laws’ house two days ago. When the police questioned her, she told that she was taken to Kikkar Chak village, where Lovely and his nephew held her hostage and raped her. The police said that the accused are absconding and will be caught soon.
