Technology: Organized globally by the Italian diplomatic-consulate network and Cultural Institutions, the event was held in Jeddah specifically in collaboration with the Italian School and several leading universities in the city.

The exciting event, which began at the Italian School, was inspired by Susanna Mattiangeli’s award-winning book, “Uno come Antonio.” Barbara Schiaffino, a notable figure in children’s literature, discussed current trends in the genre. Further curiosity was fueled after teacher Peppe Coppola encouraged students to bring literature to life through dramatic interpretations. Meanwhile, linguistic creativity was explored in an engaging workshop inspired by the methodology of Bruno Munari.

Professor Mario Orabona from KAUST shed light on the topic of artificial intelligence. He explored the integration of the Italian language within AI translation mechanisms. By demonstrating the creative potential of AI, he revealed the intricacies of automated translation with fascinating examples involving ChatGPT.

The afternoon sessions moved to the University of Business and Technology in Jeddah. Thanks to the initiative of Consul General Leonardo Costa, the university inaugurated the Arab world’s leading Italian language course. Here, an in-depth analysis of AI translation tools was presented, discussing logical and creative routes. Attendees gained insight into cutting-edge technologies such as large language models and neural networks, and were further exposed to real-life examples through interaction with the ChatGPT model.
