11 illegal gas cylinders were seized, food team raided general stores
Bilaspur. In many places in Bilaspur, black marketing of domestic gas cylinders is being done openly in grocery shops including utensils shops and general stores. The Food Department, which is active during Diwali, conducted raids on Wednesday and recovered 11 illegal gas cylinders. Action has been taken against the shop operators under the Essential Commodities Act.
The Food Department is constantly receiving complaints of misuse and illegal black marketing of domestic gas cylinders in the city. In fact, the illegal business of illegally keeping and refilling domestic gas cylinders in utensils shops, metal stores and general stores is going on on a large scale.
Even after continuous complaints, the Food Department officials were not taking action. Due to which there were allegations of their collusion. On this, Collector Avnish Sharan has directed the Food Department to go to the plains and investigate.
