Telangana: Flood flow increases in Srisailam reservoir due to rain

Telangana: Flood flow has increased in Srisailam reservoir due to rains. Along with this, 1,11,932 cusecs of water is being released through spillway by opening four gates. At 7 pm on Saturday, 82,940 cusecs of water came through spillway from Jurala, 35,524 from Sunkesula, 72,114 from Sunkesula and 250 cusecs from Hundry, a total of 1,90,828 cusecs. Additional 68,039 cusecs of water is being released into Sagar, while 36,900 cusecs of water is being generated in the left bank underground station and 31,139 cusecs in the right bank station under AP Genco. Currently Srisailam reservoir has 213.8824 TMC water storage at water level of 884.7 feet.

8,000 cusecs of water was released through Pothireddypadu, 1,561 cusecs to HNSS from Muchumarri and Mallya uplifts and 2,000 cusecs to MGKLI from Regumanagadda. On Saturday, officials are lifting 16 radial crustgates of Nagarjunasagar project and releasing water downstream due to increased inflow from upstream. 1,29,600 cusecs of water is being released downstream through the spillway by raising 16 gates by five feet. The maximum water level of Sagar reservoir is 590 feet. Currently, 1,74,120 cusecs of floodwater is reaching Sagar reservoir. A total of 1,74,120 cusecs of water is being released from Sagar, with 29,435 cusecs through Sagar main power station, 1,29,600 cusecs from Crustgates.
