The collector noticed a pickup truck carrying 40 villagers and issued a challan himself

It is common to carry passengers in a pickup. Even after explaining, this is not being curbed. In such a situation, 42 villagers who reached the Collectorate in two pickup trucks to give a statement in some case came under the notice of the Collector. On the instructions of the Collector, the Transport Department officer immediately imposed a fine on the pickup truck after finding violation of rules.

According to the information, 42 villagers from village Amalor had reached Mahasamund Collectorate in two pickup trucks CG 04 NA 5971 and CG 06 GY 6802 to give a statement in some case, which were seen by Collector Vinay Kumar Langeh. Along with this, he directed the Transport Department officer to take action.

On receiving the information, the Transport Department staff reached the spot and checked the documents of the vehicle. First, the driver and the villagers were counselled, then for violating the rules, a fine of Rs 6,500 was imposed on vehicle number CG 04 NA 5971 and a fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed on vehicle number CG 06 GY 6802.
