Three day Ritu Basant Mahotsav begins in Udaipur

Udaipur , The three-day Ritu Basant Mahotsav, a beautiful festival of Faguni colors, organized annually by West Zone Cultural Center Udaipur Udaipur, started from Monday. The attractive presentation of Kuchipudi dance by Padma V. Jayaramarao enthralled the audience on the first day of the festival at Darpan Auditorium, Shilpgram, Udaipur, the courtyard of art cultures.

Choreographed by Jayarama Rao, Omkaram was performed by Jayarama Rao and team. During this it was told that the sound of Omkaram is the symbol of the cosmic energy of Lord Shiva, while the chanting of Omkaram bestows salvation. Jayamu Jayamu is a prayer in praise of Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge. Its choreography has been done by Late Guru Padmabhushan Vaimpati Chinna Satyam. In this, Siddhendra Yogi, the father of Kuchipudi and the founder of Kuchipudi village, has been remembered.

In the beginning, in the presence of Mrs. Kiran Soni Gupta, Director of Western Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur, Ritu Basant Utsav was inaugurated by lighting a lamp in front of the image of Vighnaharta. The chief guest of the program was Indian writer-director-producer Rajan Khosa. Padma Jayarama Rao and other artists were honored at the end of the programme.

When Hiranyakashyap appeared: The dance performance in Kuchipudi Yakshaganam was based on Prahlad Natakam, in which the demon king Hiranyakashyap was shown going to the court. In this dance performance Hiranyakashipu was described in the lyrics of the song. Similarly, in the presentation of the composition of Durga Tarangam Yeti Narayana Teertha, verses are recited before Durga Tarangam and after that dance is performed on the edges of the brass plate, which is the symbol of union of God and soul.
Draupadi’s insult was made real through classical dance performance: On this occasion, a presentation of Maharaja Swati Tirumal’s Hindi composition “Aaj Aaye Shyam Mohan Raas Mandal Khelane” was given. In this, the insult of Draupadi by Dushasan in the Kaurava assembly and Lord Krishna providing clothes of unlimited length to save Draupadi were shown.
Closing with Tillana: The first day’s presentations ended with Tillana. Tillana is a rhythmic composition of Karnataka music art. Episode of Lord Krishna’s victory over Kalia Nag in river Yamuna was presented by the group in Tillana.
These presentations will be held today: Mrs. Kiran Soni Gupta, Director of West Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur, Udaipur, told that a feature film written and directed by Rajan Khosa, Dance of the Wind, will be screened on Tuesday at 5 pm. This will be followed by the screening of the docudrama film Yaadein Bismillah, depicting the life of famous shehnai maestro Ustad Bismillah Khan from birth to death, in which Harish Bhimani has narrated the story in his own voice.
