Chandigarh: Union minister calls Congress ‘anti-Dalit’
Chandigarh: Union Cabinet Minister and Haryana election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan today claimed that the Congress party is anti-Dalit and wants to abolish reservation if it gets a chance. Dharmendra Pradhan was in Panchkula along with Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada where he also visited the Mata Mansa Devi temple on Wednesday. The party later held a roadshow from Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3 to its election office in Sector 14. The road was completely jammed during the roadshow as a large number of BJP workers gathered with banners and flags. Pradhan said that the Congress is an anti-Dalit party.
“They lied about reservation during the parliamentary elections and said that the BJP wants to abolish reservation. But in reality, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress will abolish reservation as soon as it gets a chance,” he said. He said the BJP is with the poor people and will not let anyone change it. He said Congress leaders are rigging Haryana. “The party’s manifesto is a document of lies. After Telangana, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh, the Congress party has come up with lies in Haryana too,” he alleged. Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada said the Congress party did not do what it said. “Congress’ promises will never be fulfilled. The BJP will fulfil its assurances in five years,” he said. BJP leader Jitin Prasada, who was part of the roadshow, later said during a conference with members of the Brahmin community that the support of the Brahmin community would ensure the party’s victory by a margin of over 30,000 votes.
