Illegal excavation of stone, serious allegation on mineral officer

Illegal mining is going on in full swing in the district. Stone is being excavated in the name of gravel. Hundreds of trucks filled with stone are being taken openly, but the mineral officer does not know whether stone or gravel is being taken out from the mine. The matter is of Risama village of Durg Rural Assembly. Risama Village

Two days ago, the villagers caught several trucks and created a ruckus over royalty theft and digging stone instead of gravel. When the matter escalated, officials of the Mineral Department reached the spot, but they neither checked the royalty slips of the trucks nor took any action.

The villagers of Risama said that the pond is being excavated for use in the Bharatmala project. The Gram Panchayat has given permission for Murum mining, but after finding stones here, they are being dug up and taken away. The angry villagers had closed the pond where Murum was being excavated.
