Himachal: Industry Minister heard public problems in sewing
Himachal Pradesh: Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni recently held meetings with the anti-ragging committees of its three constituent colleges to raise awareness about the evil of ragging and to create an inclusive environment. Representatives from the College of Horticulture and Forestry at the main campus as well as the College of Horticulture & Forestry at Thunag participated in the deliberations. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Rajeshwar Chandel and was attended by student representatives, deans, faculty members and external stakeholders.
Professor Chandel appreciated the efforts of the anti-ragging committees, particularly the student members, in maintaining positive relations between seniors and juniors across all campuses. He emphasized that student interactions are important for fostering a supportive academic environment and contribute significantly to overall personal development. Acknowledging the well-known issues related to ragging, he urged the committee members and the university community to be vigilant. He encouraged the committees to enhance interaction among students and help new students adapt to university life. Suggestions to enhance goodwill and positive interactions among new and returning students were actively discussed, as well as initiatives aimed at increasing awareness about ragging and its prevention to ensure a holistic learning environment. College Deans Dr Manish Sharma, Dr CL Thakur and Dr PL Sharma, Dean Student Welfare Dr KK Raina, Registrar Narendra Kumar, Thunag SDM besides representatives of faculty and police department were present on the occasion.
