Phagwara: Four arrested under NDPS Act

Phagwara: Police arrested four people including a woman drug smuggler on Saturday night and recovered 50 grams of heroin and 150 narcotic pills from them. SP Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said that the police arrested Amarjit Kaur, a woman from Amar Nagar, Phagwara, with 30 grams of heroin. In the second case, Shamu of Chagg Colony, Phagwara was caught with 15 grams of heroin. In the third case, Harpreet of Miheru and Gaurav of Shastri Nagar were arrested with 5 grams of heroin and 150 narcotic pills.

Rs 5 lakh and narcotic pills recovered from 4 people

Hoshiarpur: District police arrested four smugglers and recovered narcotic pills and drug money worth Rs 5 lakh from them. Police raided a readymade garments shop in Mohalla Jagatpura and recovered 2400 narcotic capsules and 17000 narcotic pills from there. Apart from this, the police also recovered drug money worth Rs 5 lakh from the said shop. Police have arrested the alleged accused Ajay Walia.

2 stolen bikes recovered

Phagwara: Police arrested a person and recovered two stolen motorcycles with registration numbers PB-37B-1335 and PB-3AS-3987 from his possession. Superintendent of Police Rupinder Kaur Bhatti said that the arrested accused has been identified as Jasbir Singh, a resident of village Lakhpur. A case has been registered against the accused.

Person arrested under NDPS Act

Phagwara: Police have arrested a person for selling narcotic pills. 95 narcotic pills were recovered from the possession of accused Gagi, a resident of Batala and currently living in Dharamkot, Jalandhar. A case has been registered against him under section 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act.

5 people booked for attacking man

Phagwara: Police have booked five people for allegedly attacking a 45-year-old man. The accused have been identified as Robin Preet Singh, a resident of Dashmesh Nagar, his brother Harmanpreet Singh and their three accomplices. Nirmal Singh of the same area complained to the police that on June 18, the accused barged into his welding workshop in Parjian Kalan village and attacked him with weapons, injuring him.

Woman arrested for cheating and conspiracy

Phagwara: Nakodar police have arrested a woman on charges of cheating and conspiracy. The accused has been identified as Narinder Kaur, a resident of Mirapur village. Sukhjinder Singh, a resident of Mudhan village, complained to the police that the accused and his accomplices tampered with the land records and sold the land mortgaged in his name and cheated him. A case has been registered against the accused.
