Jalandhar: Cash and jewellery worth lakhs stolen from car

Jalandhar: A thief broke the glass of a car parked outside a dhaba on GT Road near Phagwara and stole cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees. Victim Sandeep Singh, a resident of Kolgarh village in Nawanshahr district, said that he was returning from Jalandhar after buying medicine. He stopped at Lucky Dhaba near Phagwara to eat and parked his car outside. A person broke the glass of the car and stole Rs 1.5 lakh and gold jewellery from it. NRI Sandeep Singh, who came to India for treatment from Italy, said that when he was returning with his medical report from the hospital, he stopped at the dhaba to eat, during which the theft took place. He said that there has been a loss of about Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh. The police have been informed and in the CCTV footage, a young man is allegedly seen near the car.
