Punjab: Former minister Sekhon presented clarification at Akal Takht

Punjab: Former Shiromani Akali Dal minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon today submitted his explanation at the Akal Takht that he was part of the government when controversial decisions were taken that led to the downfall of the Akali Dal. He served as PWD and Irrigation minister during the Akali-BJP coalition government in Punjab from 2007 to 2015. Sekhon expressed his commitment to the Akal Takht and said he has submitted his written explanation pledging to accept the decision of the Akal Takht. He was among the 17 former ministers who served during the Akal Takht’s tenure from 2007 to 2017. All were directed to submit their written explanations individually at the Akal Takht after a meeting led by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh on August 30.
