Ragging case: Two more students arrested
Himachal Pradesh: Kandaghat Police today arrested two more students of Bahra Vishwavidyalaya in Waknaghat in connection with ragging, taking the number of arrested students to five. The arrested students include Kartik (19), a resident of Ghumarwin, and Saksham (22), a resident of Theog. Saksham is studying law, while Kartik is a student of computer science. SP Solan Gaurav Singh said that both the students have been expelled from the university on the recommendations of the university’s anti-ragging committee meeting held today. They will be produced in court today for remand. On September 7, the MBA first-year student was beaten up and forced to drink alcohol in a hostel room on campus. When he refused to drink alcohol, the seniors brutally beat him and punched him with kicks. He was locked in the washroom for some time and locked in the seniors’ room.
