Ludhiana: Khanna police solved the blind murder case in six hours
Ludhiana: The Khanna police today claimed to have solved the murder of a woman within six hours. The victim was shot on Thursday night at Khanna and was found dead at a secluded spot in Malaud near Khanna on Thursday night. The suspect has been identified as Bablu Yadav (45), a resident of Bihar, who was currently staying in Malaud. The deceased has been identified as Satpal Kaur (45). SSP Khanna Ashwani Gotiyal addressed a press conference in this regard on Friday. According to information, the suspect used to work at Jasvir Singh’s house in Malaud, where the woman also worked. The two had developed an illicit relationship. When the house owner came to know about the matter about three months ago, he fired both of them from the job. Even the woman’s husband came to know about the illicit relationship and he too opposed it.
On September 5, the victim left home for some work but did not return home till 8.30 pm. While the woman’s husband Gulraj was searching for her, he received a call from the village sarpanch who informed him that the victim’s body was found in the village. The deceased had strangulation marks on her neck and was bleeding from her mouth. The SSP said that the police started investigation after receiving information about the body being found. After identifying the suspect, police teams conducted raids and apprehended Bablu, who was trying to flee to Bihar. The suspect admitted that the woman had started blackmailing him. She had already taken more than Rs 1.25 lakh from him and was now demanding more money. She threatened that she would register a rape case against him if her demand was not met. Angered by the woman’s behaviour, the suspect strangled her to death and then hit her face with a wooden plank. Police said that since the body was found in a semi-nude state, a report has been sought from doctors to ascertain whether the victim was sexually assaulted or not.
