Chhattisgarh High Court strict on delay in expansion of air facility

Bilaspur bilaspur news. While hearing the PILs filed regarding the development of airport and air facility in Bilaspur, the High Court has taken a tough stand on the delay in development works. A division bench of Justice Gautam Bhaduri and Justice Radha Krishna Agarwal has directed the state and central government to file a status report in the matter of land transfer. Bilaspur Airport

While reviewing the progress of the night landing facility, the state government said that in the meeting held on August 5, it was agreed to install the equipment of DVOR technology. The Chhattisgarh government has issued a consent letter to bear the expenses stated by the Airport Authority of India.

Advocate Sudeep Srivastava of the petitioners urged the court to bring the minutes of the meeting and the consent letter on record, which was accepted by the court. In the case of land transfer, Srivastava informed that the amount of Rs 90 crore has been returned and now land is being demanded in Naya Raipur, while the Ministry of Defense had agreed to give 287 acres of land. The High Court has directed both the governments to clarify the position on land transfer. Apart from this, the construction of new boundary wall for night landing equipment and other minor works were also discussed. The court has scheduled the next hearing of the case after two weeks.
