Best Alien Comic Books, which will mesmerize you

Lifestyle: Alien- Romulus is a must-have for the Alien movie franchise, and FX’s Alien: Earth, its first TV show, could keep the momentum going next year as well. If you’re desperate to learn more about the Xenomorphs and experience the horror stories, we’ve compiled our list of the best Alien comic books ever made. For decades, Dark Horse Comics owned the rights to both Alien and Predator in the comic book realm, releasing numerous series and one-shots that were worth our time. With Disney taking over Fox’s empire and all of its properties, the opportunity came to move both franchises to Marvel (owned by the House of Mouse), and things changed for the first time forever. So far, Marvel Comics’ take on both franchises has been interesting to say the least, and you definitely shouldn’t ignore the comics they’ve released so far.

If you’re looking for something new to watch before (or after) watching Romulus, or just want to binge-watch the entire science-fiction horror series for the first time, our up-to-date Alien streaming guide is for you. Of course, we haven’t forgotten about gamers, and we also have some thoughts on the best Alien games ever made.

Release Year: 1993

Writers and Artists: Peter Milligan, Paul Johnson, Elie de Ville

Originally published as part of Aliens magazine, Aliens: Sacrifice is often overlooked, but it’s a great comic that fans shouldn’t miss. The story follows the survivor of a deadly spaceship crash on an unnamed desolate planet. There, a village is terrorized by a xenomorph, so she’s immediately caught up in a fight for survival while also facing her own demons.

Paul Johnson’s art is a highlight – exactly the kind of stuff you don’t get to see in the big comic books – and this alone gave (and still does) a lot of value to Aliens: Sacrifice, but in addition Peter Milligan’s incisive and emotional writing carries the story. This slim, four-part story is a stand-alone tale that could have made a fine Alien movie.
